Blogging seems to be the “in” thing at the moment. Everywhere I go, people are talking about it. It makes you think, perhaps I should start a blog.
Anyway, this is what made me curious and, consequently, start my blog. Starting a blog is, to me, like claiming my little bit of the so-called “world wide web”. It is yours to own forever and to use as a lever into so many things. For example, you can make money out of it, not that this is my intention at the moment. A blog can be used to start a new, or promote an existing, business. You can also use it to express your inner thoughts or sharpen up your writing skills.
I can’t get enough of the mechanics of blogging and social media and am forever reading, online and offline, about them. It drives my wife up the wall sometimes, but she is very understanding and lets me indulge my passion.
Blogging for me is a way of expressing my everyday thoughts. Primarily, at the moment, it is a way of improving the way I communicate in writing. It is, I suppose, a form of therapy.
It’s great if you can write about something you are passionate about, but don’t worry if you can’t decide on a topic. Don’t let this stop you. If you are like most bloggers, you will soon settle on a topic as you go along. I am fairly new to blogging and have still to find my niche!
The one thing about blogging is that it is a steep learning curve. Nevertheless, don’t give up, persist and you will soon start to reap the benefits. Once you have started, you will develop a sense of purpose and look forward to writing your next post. Blogging is fun and I recommend it to anyone who has something to say!
