My Twenty Twenty Theme Tweaks

I really love the new default WordPress theme, Twenty Twenty, but feel it needs the odd tweak, or two. Buckle up, here goes!

First of all, I wanted to change the header and footer background colour, so as to accentuate the main body of the site. To achieve this, I went to the Customiser, chose the Colours option and changed the Background Colour to, in my case, #ffffff and the Header & Footer Background Colour to, in my case, #007991.

Secondly, for the sake of consistency and appearance, I wanted to change the various links and buttons to the same colour as my header and footer background colour. Once again, to achieve this, I went to the Customiser, chose the Additional CSS option and entered the following CSS:

.entry-categories a, .entry-content a, .pagination-single a, p.akismet_comment_form_privacy_notice a {color: #007991;}

.comment-respond #submit, .comment-reply-link, #site-content #infinite-handle span button {background-color: #007991;}

Thirdly, because I think it looks nicer, I wanted to centre align the Akismet privacy notice link. Yet again, to achieve this, I went to the Customiser, chose the Additional CSS option and entered the following CSS:

p.akismet_comment_form_privacy_notice {text-align: center;}

Finally, for the sake of personal preference, I wanted to resize the heading font sizes and match the entry content font to the heading font. You’ve guessed it, I went to the Customiser, chose the Additional CSS option and entered the following CSS:

h1, .heading-size-1, .archive .heading-size-1, .entry-title a {font-size: 4.6rem;}

h2, .heading-size-2 {font-size: 3.2rem;}

h3, .heading-size-3, #jp-relatedposts h3.jp-relatedposts-headline em, .entry-content div.sharedaddy h3.sd-title, .comment-reply-title {font-size: 2.8rem;}

h4, .heading-size-4 {font-size: 2.4rem;}

h5, .heading-size-5 {font-size: 2.1rem;}

h6, .heading-size-6 {font-size: 1.6rem;}

.entry-content p, .widget_text p {font-family: “Inter var”, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, “Helvetica Neue”, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 1.8rem;}

Anyway, these are a few of my Twenty Twenty theme tweaks. I hope you like them. Having said that, I don’t always stick with them and often revert to the original layout. What about yours? Let me know!
