One of the joys of blogging, for me at least, is being able to share, on a weekly basis, my own thoughts on whatever comes into my head at any particular point in time. I love writing and will do so until I am physically incapable. However, how do you find a topic to write about? Read on to find out!
Naturally, when you take your first tentative steps into the blogosphere, it is all very exciting. Afterwards, reality kicks in and you realise that you have to work at it to stay on top of things. Your job, or, in my case, life, has a habit of taking over and demanding more of your attention.
Blogging requires all of your efforts to keep up the momentum and continue to move forward. Your work or life can get really busy and you can so easily get distracted.
I find that coming up with a blog post topic can take up just as much time, or more, as writing a post. However, once you have decided on a topic, everything else is relatively plain sailing.
How about finding a topic which teaches people about something? Why not use a title starting with “How” or “Why”?
What about sharing something which is not publicly available, or bringing together, in one place, something from various sources?
How about putting a new slant on a tried and tested practice or idea?
How about writing a real or fictional account of a personal experience?
These are some ideas for finding a topic for your next blog post. There are, of course, many others.
